The Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs branch in the Makkah region, Mazen bin Hamad Al-Hamli, welcomed the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Jeddah, Wang Chi Min, at the branch’s headquarters in Jeddah today. This meeting was an opportunity to strengthen the bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the People’s Republic of China and to emphasize the importance of ongoing cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

The meeting began with the presentation of the consular patent, which is the document that grants the new Consul General his official powers in the Kingdom. This step is an important diplomatic tradition that reflects mutual respect and understanding between nations. During the meeting, there was also an exchange of cordial conversations focusing on enhancing cooperation in economic, cultural, and commercial fields.

Mazen bin Hamad Al-Hamli spoke about the Saudi-Chinese relations, which have seen significant development in recent years, especially in light of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative. Al-Hamli noted that the two countries are working intensively to strengthen cooperation in various sectors such as energy, infrastructure, technology, and culture. He emphasized the importance of increasing mutual investments and developing strategic partnerships that benefit both countries.

For his part, the Chinese Consul General, Wang Chi Min, expressed his happiness in taking on this position in Jeddah and his eagerness to work on strengthening bilateral relations between China and Saudi Arabia. Wang affirmed China’s commitment to providing all possible support to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which align with the objectives of the Belt and Road Initiative. He also noted that the cooperation between the two countries extends beyond the economic aspect to include cultural, educational, and scientific fields.

The two sides also addressed current global challenges such as climate change and food security, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts to tackle these issues. The Chinese Consul praised Saudi efforts in this regard, expressing his country’s readiness to cooperate with the Kingdom in its environmental and developmental initiatives.

At the end of the meeting, both parties agreed on the need for continued communication and coordination between the relevant authorities in both countries to strengthen bilateral relations and achieve common goals. They also emphasized the importance of exchanging visits and delegations between the two countries to activate and expand cooperation.

This meeting reflects the depth of the relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the People’s Republic of China and the mutual keenness to develop them. It is expected that cooperation between the two countries will gain more momentum in the coming period, especially given the current global conditions that require international cooperation to address common challenges.
